TitleSwept-source optical coherence tomography angiography in active and scarred toxoplasmic retinochoroiditis
Accept poster if oral is not possible ?Yes
PurposeTo describe OCT angiography findings in toxoplasmic retinochoroiditis.
MethodsOCTangiography scans in active (14 eyes) and scarred (8 eyes) retinochoroiditis were retrospectively reviewed.
ResultsIn active lesions, OCT angiography findings were as follows: dark hypointense areas in retinal plexuses and choriocapillaris in all 14 eyes, retinal telangiectasia in one eye and retinal capillary non-perfusion due to branch retinal artery occlusion in one eye. In scarred lesions, there were dark hypointense areas in retinal plexuses and choriocapillaris in all 8 eyes, retinal telangiectasia in one eye, and visibility of medium and large choroidal vessels in 6 eyes. Five peripapillary scars were associated on OCT angiography with wedge-shaped loss of radial peripapillary capillaries corresponding to localized retinal nerve fiber layer defects on clinical examination.
ConclusionOCT angiography may be useful in evaluating microvascular changes in active and scarred toxoplasmic retinochoroiditis.
