Ophthalmologist / Medical Doctor

  • 150 EUR for 1 Year
  • 280 EUR for 2 Years

Resident in Training / Fellow *

  • 75 EUR for 1 Year
  • 100 EUR for 2 Years

* Proof of trainee status is required when requesting this membership type. This membership category may be held for a maximum of four years.

* Member Ophthalmologists in good standing can vote at the General Assembly - Trainee members shall not have voting rights.
** Members in good standing: having paid membership of at least two most recent consecutive years.

  • Fill out your details and confirm your payment by clicking on "Yes, I confirm my payment"

Membership Categories

Individual Regular Members

(Ophthalmologists/Medical Doctors)
  • Regular members in good standing shall have full membership rights and privileges, including, without limitation, the right to vote, hold office and serve on the committees of the society.
  • Discounted registration for conferences and events.
  • Opportunities for awards and recognition.
  • Networking platforms (online forums, local chapters)

Trainee membership

Shall be open to those individuals who are enrolled in academic programs awarding, and are candidates for, MD, DO, PhD, or equivalent degree, with a demonstrated interest in ocular immunology & infectiology. In order to be eligible for this class of membership, such individual must provide to the Society a letter of recommendation and proof of enrolment/training status from a training or program director for the program in which such individual is enrolled.

In addition, Trainee membership shall also be open to individuals who are participating in post-doctoral or clinical fellowship, or residency programs. Trainee members shall not have voting rights and may not hold office. A Trainee member can move to Regular membership status through successful completion of their training program, post-doctoral or clinical fellowship, or residency program with a letter of completion from the program director.

Status of Trainee can be held for maximum 4 years and proof of trainee status is required (to be uploaded). Only if they are member in good standing they will benefit from reduced registration fee similar to the regular members.

 

Emeritus membership

Shall be open to those individuals that have been a Regular member for fifteen years or longer having paid regular contributions and secondly who have attained the minimum age of 70 years and has to be retired. Under circumstances deemed appropriate by the executive board, the requirement of an age of 65 years for transfer to Emeritus status may be waived. Emeritus members shall retain all rights and privileges of active membership, including voting rights, except that Emeritus members may not hold office or serve on the EB. Emeritus members shall be exempt from payment of dues. They need to apply for this status themselves.

Honorary membership

Invited to apply by IOIS. Membership fee waived.

National & International Affiliated Members

A national (ex. American Uveitis Society) & International (ex. IUSG, Euretina, …) group organisations of individual scientists or organizations of scientists formed for the purpose of scientific cooperation and in the field of ocular immunology or related disciplines of several scientific independent territories. International affiliated members are entitled to appoint one representative to participate in the deliberations of the IOIS Council. Have the right to propose sessions at the IOIS meetings. Have the right to propose IOIS meeting venues and act as the host of the IOIS meeting. No voting rights at the general assembly.
