Accept poster if oral is not possible ?Yes
Purpose To report a case of Japanese idiopathic uveitis that can be controlled by monthly adalimumab.
Methods17 years old man visited our clinic with a symptom of blurred vision and pain in his both eyes. 2~3+ cells in anterior and posterior chamber, fine keratic precipitate, posterior synechia were observed. Fundus examination showed soft exudate in peripheral retina and venous dilation. There was no remarkable change in laboratory and CT. We also checked VZV and HSV in the aqueous by PCR, but it was negative.
ResultsThe diagnosis of idiopathic uveitis was made. Although sub-Tenon injection of triamcinolone acetonide and oral prednisolone were administered, these didn’t respond and vitreous hemorrhage was occurred. After adalimumab was added, inflammation was improved. 4 weeks after treatment with adalimumab and oral prednisolone, there was no findings in his both eyes. Since started decrease oral prednisolone, inflammation had been suppressed and only adalimumab kept the condition. Adalimumab was initiated by 2 weeks, but his family complained about treatment costs. We changed administration interval once a month and there were no findings. We also tried once every 5 weeks, but cells in posterior chamber were presented.
ConclusionMonthly adalimumab injection is possible to control some uveitis.
