TitleInfectous uveitis in Bangladesh,a birds eye view
Purpose Observe the incidence of infective uveitis in Bangladesh
Methods Retrospective study
Results Diagnosis of infective uveitis is mandatory for effective management to avert visual morbidity and blindness. Bangladesh is a TB endemic country, domestic pets are common almost in every household. These factors influences in the causation of infective uveitis. The absence of a structured protocol, poor availability of lab facilities stands as a obstacle to a dependable data in this regard. The available data also differs greatly from center to center. However the available data shows the distribution of infective uveitis as idiopathic 50-52%, tubercular 33%, toxoplasma 7%, syphilis 2% and others 5%. Others include post operative and viral infections.
Conclusion A guideline in absence of appropriate lab facilities should be structured
