Accept poster if oral is not possible ? | Yes |
Purpose | The incidence of syphilis is rising remarkably in many countries worldwide. In middle- and high-income countries, those at high risk for syphilis are men have sex with men, bisexual man and transgender women. The recent availability of ‘dating apps’ or geospatial real-time network apps assisted in creating larger interconnected sexual networks, and easy access to multiple sexual partners. Effective HIV prevention methods such as pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) has reduced the fear of HIV, but has inadvertently exacerbated high risk behaviours such as condomless sex. This has contributed to the rise in most sexually transmitted infections, including syphilis. |
